New Variant OMICRON
A NEW VARIANT WITH AN ALL-NEW FACE
The new coronavirus variant B.1.1.529 that is Omicron is spreading at an unprecedented rate who has got its root in South Africa.
Though all of us were aware of this fact that the third wave of SARS COVID-19 will hit, will hit hard whose previous variants have already destroyed the whole world
Financially, physically, and mentally too. But the new variant & its mutation is revealing a new story or say it is showing us an all-new face of the virus to which billions of people lost their breath in the past two years back to back.
Why did Omicron be a variant of concern?
As per WHO’s report, it is extremely transmissible that has the potential to replace the older variant that is Delta, also it has a higher risk of reinfection according to the world’s wider health ministries. However the countries over the world are claiming of almost 90 to 100% Jab done among their people but what is fearful is that according to a study published by Pfitzer showed that two doses of Covid jabs offer around 70% protection against severe disease from Omicron, compared to 93% against earlier variants.
Unprepared health system & the sheer number of cases….
The last two waves with two consecutive years told us that how less prepared the whole world was including the developed countries for such kind of pandemic that uncurtained the helplessness of the health system all over the world. So, it is necessary to take all possible measures to rein in the spread, including scaling up vaccination, encouraging mask-wearing, and keeping a distance of two yards is a must.
The WHO expert Bruce Aylward has asked the whole world to follow all the previous rules regarding the virus by saying, “Do it all, Do it consistently. Do it well.”
No need to panic but taking it lightly is also a big no!
Since the studies published yet told us the high scale of infection multiplication or say the potential of its exponential growth is higher but they haven’t given many ideas of the severity or say how dangerous the new variant could be so it is advised to take precautions properly & get yourself jabbed if you haven’t got vaccinated with both the doses because the vaccination is going to play a big role into controlling the spreading or say saving us from the lethal consequences of the variant. Also if we go into a season like we are going into now when a lot of people want to get together for the holiday season, and we have a more transmissible virus, that we don’t know is milder, we could place ourselves in a very dangerous situation.
It is also must not to create a hype using social media platforms or other modes aver the variant because in a situation where we don’t know what is likely to happen, which is a large wave of cases. Those cases may or may not be severe, but will in themselves generate pressure on the health system, which impacts the economy of the whole world by disturbing the normal life of the people. So live lively while acting wisely.
